A small retail business engaged Liquid HR for telephone and email HR support. During onboarding, it became clear that the main issue stemmed from a long-standing employee relations challenge.
For over 12 months, the business had been dealing with an aggressive and emotionally difficult employee. Fear of conflict and repercussions had prevented the owners from addressing the situation, creating a tense and unpleasant work environment.
Recognising the urgency of the issue, Liquid HR implemented a fair and structured disciplinary process. Our HR advisor worked closely with both the employee and the business owners, ensuring that appropriate legal and professional steps were taken.
Despite ongoing efforts to correct the behaviour, the employee remained defensive and aggressive. Once the disciplinary process was formally implemented, the employee chose to resign. While a behavioural change would have been ideal, the business owners were relieved and thankful for the resolution, which restored workplace morale.
